Parent Code of Conduct
As a parent or guardian of an RSC player, you play a vital role in creating a positive, safe, and enjoyable environment for every child in our program.
Rockville Soccer Club is committed to providing a fun, safe, and respectful environment for all players, coaches, and families. By registering your child with RSC, you agree to uphold the following standards of conduct at all club events, games, and practices.
Sportsmanship & Respect
- I will encourage positive sportsmanship and model respectful behavior at all times.
- I will treat all players, coaches, referees, and spectators with dignity and respect, regardless of the outcome of the game.
- I will refrain from using profane, insulting, harassing, or offensive language or gestures.
- I will not engage in any kind of taunting or trash-talking directed at opposing players, coaches, or fans.
Support for Players & Coaches
- I will support my child's participation in soccer and encourage them to enjoy the sport regardless of performance.
- I will respect the decisions and authority of coaches and trust their judgment in player development.
- I will not coach my child or other players from the sideline during games or practices.
- I will communicate concerns or questions to coaches privately and respectfully — never during a game or practice.
- I will recognize that coaches are volunteers or professionals dedicated to the growth of all players.
Referee & Official Conduct
- I will respect the authority of referees and officials and accept their decisions without argument.
- I will never approach, confront, or verbally abuse a referee before, during, or after a game.
- I understand that referee abuse may result in my removal from the facility and potential suspension from RSC events.
- I will remember that referees, including youth referees, are learning and developing their skills.
Sideline Behavior
- I will remain in designated spectator areas and not enter the field of play without permission.
- I will cheer positively for all players on both teams and avoid negative comments.
- I will not use electronic devices to record or photograph players in a manner that violates their privacy.
- I will ensure younger siblings and guests in my care are supervised and behave appropriately.
Commitment & Responsibility
- I will ensure my child arrives on time and is prepared for all practices and games.
- I will notify the coach in advance if my child cannot attend a scheduled event.
- I will fulfill any volunteer or administrative commitments I have made to the club.
- I will support the club's policies, including those related to player safety, equipment, and conduct.
- I understand that violations of this Code of Conduct may result in removal from RSC events or suspension from the club.
Acknowledgment
By participating in RSC programs, all parents and guardians acknowledge they have read, understand, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Failure to comply may result in removal from RSC events or termination of club membership.
