Player Code of Conduct
Every RSC player is expected to represent the club with pride, compete with integrity, and treat everyone in the game with respect.
Being part of Rockville Soccer Club is a privilege. We are committed to developing not only skilled players, but young people of strong character. By participating in RSC, every player agrees to uphold the following standards at all practices, games, and club events.
Respect & Sportsmanship
- I will treat all teammates, opponents, coaches, referees, and spectators with respect at all times.
- I will win and lose with grace — celebrating victories humbly and accepting defeats with dignity.
- I will never taunt, bully, or use disrespectful language toward anyone on or off the field.
- I will shake hands with opponents and officials before and after every game.
Effort & Attitude
- I will give my best effort in every practice and game, regardless of the score or situation.
- I will maintain a positive attitude even when things are difficult or do not go my way.
- I will encourage my teammates and support them through mistakes and challenges.
- I will focus on improving my own skills and contributing to the team rather than comparing myself to others.
Teamwork & Coachability
- I will be a supportive and reliable teammate — on and off the field.
- I will listen to my coaches, follow their instructions, and be open to feedback.
- I will put the success of the team above personal statistics or recognition.
- I will communicate positively with teammates and avoid blaming others for mistakes.
- I will respect the decisions of my coaches regarding playing time and positioning.
Fair Play & Rules
- I will play by the rules of the game and compete with honesty and integrity.
- I will never intentionally foul, injure, or endanger another player.
- I will accept the decisions of referees without argument or protest.
- I will not engage in simulation, diving, or any form of deceptive play.
Commitment & Responsibility
- I will attend all scheduled practices and games on time and prepared to play.
- I will notify my coach as early as possible if I am unable to attend a session.
- I will take care of my equipment and arrive ready to train.
- I will represent Rockville Soccer Club with pride in my behavior, appearance, and attitude.
Safety & Inclusion
- I will help create a safe and welcoming environment for every player on the team.
- I will not engage in or tolerate bullying, harassment, or exclusion of any kind.
- I will report any unsafe behavior or situations to a coach or club official immediately.
- I understand that violations of this Code of Conduct may result in suspension or removal from RSC.
Acknowledgment
By participating in RSC programs, all players acknowledge they have read, understand, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Failure to comply may result in suspension or removal from the club.
